Backlinks that can be trusted more are links from other relevant sites with good PR and established authority. For example a backlink from the BBC.co.uk is excellent, for obvious reasons but a backlink from a dubious source or with little established authority is quite simply worth less.

Think like this.

If a site with PR 8 backlinks to you they are basically endorsing you, to have the same effect you would need hundreds if not thousands of backlinks from sites with PR 2 or 3 to have the same effect. Also, you shouldnt pay from they, they should be given freely by sites on merit or recommendation. Google has a somewhat confusing policy on paid backlinks but generally it means that if you pay for them and they find out, you are in trouble.

Google has a different criteria for indexing and displaying backlinks. Yahoo will show thousands of back links (yahoo Explorer) whereas google may show only a few , a huge change in numbers.

The fact that Google has indexed you site only means it will appear in the Google Search results so what you now have to do is begin EARNING backlinks to your site, backlinks don't come directly from the search engines themselves but from other sites.

The best way to do that is with good relevant or interesting content.

People will choose to backlink to you if the quality is good enough and gradually these will be picked up by the search engines, applied via the algorithm and your site authority will increase. It takes time and effort so be patient and consistent. Also don't think that free directories help, put simply they don't they are a waste of time.

Today I checked full analysis of my blog, at search engine backlink section, it's saying I got some backlinks in Yahoo, no backlink in google search engine though? And in search engine index part, it's saying my blog's indexed in both google and yahoo, now I'm bit confused... If it's indexed then why no backlink in the search engine? How to make backlink in google search engine? Thanks and good day! :)
